Thanks, John -- since I live in DC and get the Post (yes, the actual paper version) delivered, this article was part of my must-read Sunday morning lineup.

I nodded along, but was also glad that I recently got my cholesterol checked since I do (it turns out) have some genetic markers & family history that require more than the usual "just eat a healthy diet" attention. I confess that one of the motivators for me was that Lipitor ad of a thin woman sitting next to an overweight man under the headline of "High cholesterol comes in all shapes and sizes." See: http://tushnet.blogspot.com/2007/06/lipitor-class-action-proceeds-in-part.html

Lucky for me, I was able to cut 30+ points off my total by cutting out that nightly Ben & Jerry's and walking to work every day!
