I love that you open with the “e-patients are not physicians” point – there is yet another “OMG, the Internet!!” article being forwarded around:

Everyone, please read the full article and then comment, but here’s the closing line: “The doctor, in our view, will never be optional.” All signs (including Pew Internet’s survey research) points to that being the overwhelming sentiment among consumers, too!
